Dan embarked on his musical saga as a teenager in the late "Sixties" as a student of Vinny Cusano, (who went on to become Vinny Vincent and played with many top acts including "Kiss"). He practiced prodigiously - eight hours a day was not uncommon, continuously lifting the needle off the vinyl to scrupulously copy the Hall of Fame lead work of Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Richie Blackmore, Leslie West.... "Those were inspired times in rock music", says Dan "The energy in the air was so thick you could ride it like a wave!" His first band during High School "Plain Truth" boasted an all-original format and quickly rose to finalist status in the Barnum Festival Band Wars at Seaside Park. Post-high school he played local clubs with "Earth Wagon"which was featured in the old Walt Wizzy" concerts in Eisenhower Park.
In the mid -seventies Dan played in several New Haven area bands while he minored in music at S.C.S.C. He became known for his intense but melodic lead guitar style. "I like to bend the strings a lot. I try to play more by feel than mechanics."
In the early eighties Dan switched to Bass guitar (for the money) then proceeded to a two-year road trip with "Contour", "Sudden Impact", and "Intuit". After the road he returned to his true love - guitar, and started a single act to concentrate on vocals.
In the 90's he fronted his first band, Lead guitar and vocals, "Pink Slip" playing local clubs
Several bands later and greatest is the "Hard Rain" "This band is the most polished." Says Dan, The camaraderie of bands is the same as in team sports, with one difference; as musicians get older they get better!"
